Leica SL Image Samples
My camera of the year for 2015, the Leica SL is a masterpiece of mirrorless camera design. Believe me, being a Leica I would have expected this camera (after using it) to come in at around $13,000-$15,000. Why? Because it is a Leica and they are usually overpriced by a few grand. At $7500, you are indeed getting what you pay for with the SL, which is something I can not say for most Leica cameras (which as I said, are overpriced due to the name, Leica). This time Leica went above and beyond to create an amazingly solid and well functioning camera that has the best overall image quality of any digital full frame 35mm format camera I have used (as of December 2015). The Sony A7RII is equally as amazing, even more so for those who do not shoot Leica lenses, but if you shoot with M glass or are interested in the new format, take a long look at the SL. It’s a beauty.
