Daily Inspiration #104 by Kaïs Bali

Today I have two dramatic and colorful shots that I am sure you will ALL enjoy!

“Hi Steve.

My name is Kaïs.

II’m a graphic operator for TV in France (and worldwide too 😉 )

I’ve been reading your great website for months now and I finally made the decision to send you some of my pics.

Back in june 2009, I knew nothing in photography (when I say nothing, ISO was a manga name for me !)

Then, I decided to start to shoot for real. I baught Canon 5D MKII and a 24-70 L and a 70-200 L 2.8.

Then, a friend lent me a M8 (it was the first time I held a Leica !) for some shots. I wasn’t that conviced.

Then, I finally sold the 5D MKII and baught a Nikon D3x and a wonderful Panasonic GF1 that I always carry with me.

And some pics of my vacation in Britany (West of France).

I hope you’ll enjoy the pics and maybe post it.

Anyways, keep up your excellent work for all photography amateurs that we are.

Bravo Steve !

Kaïs.”

  2. Here’s another point of vue of the Mont.

  3. Armanius, this pic was shot as I arrived at the place, at 6.00 PM, it was very cloudy that day.
I also got some W&B pics of the Mont that I’ll post as soon as I go home.

Many thanks for your positive comments guys !

  4. Wonderful atmospheric shot of Mont St Michel I’ve never seen it look so moody. I have to say though that I love the shot of the stone head on the beach, it looks like Punch carved form stone, the picture has a wonderful depth of field, really outstanding.

  5. Is that really Mont Saint Michel? I guess I never saw photos of it from this perspective. Always see photos from much farther away and with the tides up. Thanks for sharing the photos with us!

  6. 🙂 … yes, Mont-Saint-Michel 🙂 … nice nice pic!
    Take care on your trip!

  7. These pics where shot with my D3x (Nikkor 24-70/2.8) and processed with LR 2.0.
The church (not a castle) looks like a HDR pic but it’s not. It’s a single pic tweaked.

  8. I like the pic of the castle better. Looks like a great place to visit! Maybe one day … maybe I can fund a trip to France by selling the M9 … 🙂

  9. Ive been to that castle, pretty beautiful place and a much better image of it then ive seen before.

  10. Hey !!! Thanks a lot for posting my pics Steve !
I’m going to Casablanca soon, I hope I can take some nice pictures of this beautiful country.
    😉
