Many USED DEALS on Sony FE Lenses at B&H!
Looks like there are tons of Sony FE lenses at the used department of B&H Photo, and I know how much I love a great used deal, so let me share some of my faves with you guys! Loxia!
1st UP, they have a Zeiss Loxia 35 f/2 for $1099 in a 9+ condition, which is almost like brand new. The Zeiss Loxia 35 is a great lens and one I use on the Sony A7 series all the time. Great build, small in size as it is manual focus only and easy to use with great Zeiss colors and pop. See my review of this lens HERE if you missed it!

35 1.4 DISTAGON!

Sony/Zeiss 35 2.8
The Sony 35 f/2.8 is one of the originals from when the A7 series launched. It is SMALL, actually tiny in comparison to the 35 1.4, and it is very sharp and has great punch. B&H has one in a “9” condition for 19% off, coming in at $649.95. You can see it HERE.
Sony/Zeiss 16-35
The Sony 16-35 is one of my faves on the A7 series. For ultra wide it is my go to on the A7 along with the little Voigtlander 15 III but the Zeiss has Auto focus, the 16-35 range all in a nice medium size. Not too large nor too small. I love Sony products. I personally consider them a cut above most electronics. Lens performance is something I am getting used to with Sony. I think Sony made the greatest compact full frame camera technically possible. Everything that made Leica great is incorporated into the Sony Alpha series. If it was called “Minolta” then more people would be raving about it. (I am a Minolta fan from old and still have my first camera a Minolta XD 7)
Sony Alpha FE lenses have a real Achillies heal. They are the antithesis of the camera. Outside the 35mm f2.8, 55mm f1.8 and 28mm f2, the lenses are big. The zooms are too big for the body. The 35 f1.4 may be optically great but it’s bigger than the Minolta 35 f1.4 AF for the DSLR. I would wager it’s optics are every bit as good as the Sony Zeiss. At least though I have to hand it to them, they have zooms and they are great zooms. Just big ones. If I have to carry a lens that big on the A7, I may as well carry a DSLR.
The Leica is the opposite, great compact lenses but did you see the size of that M 240 body? How is it that Leica can’t make an autofocus body out of the M 240 when Sony can make it out of a body the size of a Micro fourth thirds camera?.
Why are there so many FE lenses second hand? My long winded way of getting to my point,is that it doesn’t surprise me there are lots of Sony FE lenses in the second hand section because many are not up to what Sony Alpha 7 owners want. That doesn’t mean they are bad lenses. Just not meeting the expectation of the owners of the camera bodies. As for the 25mm FE lens that was just release, please show me the cosmetic difference between that lens and the Sony Zeiss 24mm dslr lens? The dslr lens is significantly cheaper. Is the similarity skin deep?
I guess you can’t beat physics as a reasonable price.
