    By the way: Bearing in mind, that lenses feature circular images, each rectangular or squared sensor is a cropping one.

  3. Ah, but I use a desktop and the tillting trick works only limited on my Dell 19 inch flat panel :-(. But a little “Knoff Hoff” as Heidi would say, did the trick.

  5. Tilt youre laptop display, Bruno7 are you a photographer or what……..rightclick on the picture copy-paste into the Gimp (or Photoshop of course), then (in the Gimp) -> colors -> curve, grab the curve and blow up the color and hey, what do you see, a black M9 if ‘m not mistaken. Loud and clear.

    • 😀 I know I could do that but that would be at least few minutes and as I didn’t have much time and tilting my display took cca 2 seconds…

    And when I tilt my laptop display just right I can see beautiful and black M9…

    What a giveaway, Steve! I so wish it could be me… I’ve never wanted anything more in my life than M8 or M9. Apart from health and such, of course. 😉 And the way things are right now I cannot even afford to buy M8. Please let it be me!

    And I suspect that this is actually a very generous gift from ~6 because he just got his M9Ti… 🙂

    But whoever it is – big thanks to you and big thanks to you Steve because you’re making this site even better than it already was.

    • Didn’t ~6 say he was a collector. If he is, he wouldn’t be giving away an M9 just because he has the titanium version. IMO. But I could always be wrong.

      • Well, he still might be a collector, I think that regular M9 isn’t much of a collectors item. So that’s why he could give it away! 🙂

  9. Leica news or as mentioned above, a giveaway for your site supporters? Both will be great but to be honest, I am hoping for Leica news.

    X-1 firmware release? New R lens solution? New M or S lens? Something suitable for CES? I can’t see how they will announce a new M or S camera anytime soon.

  13. X1 discontinued, no new firmware for X1 and maybe another collectors item for $$$ ? Is that the cool news? If so, thank you Leica, thank you! This is the right way to get the musea filled for the future 🙂

  14. It will be a wrong step, If Leica wants to make the announcement of The M10 (The M9 is 1 year and 2 month old that’s very short time for a camera for $7000).
    They have to upgrade the x1 first because it’s lower in the product line (Leica M9 and X1 were announced in the same day) and if looked at canon, will find the canon 1Ds Mark III (flagship product) still the current version since 2007!! (when M8 was new) but the canon 550D gets replaced every year.

You have some very generous friends, I suspect, and this will really take your site views to a next level! Proud of you, Steve, and happy for you! There’s no other site like this on the web (not Canon, Not Nikon, no m4/3 or 4/3, not Sony)…this is gonna be sweet for someone, and you’re gonna make their year/lifetime…thanks to you, thanks to the kind benefactor who’s handing this over…what awesome generosity!!!!

    Hope I can play my part in supporting this in some way, ‘cuz if it’s an M9, I’ll be letting someone else get it, as I have mine already….
