Just a quick Sunday post with some more images from the Ricoh GXR with the 28mm. These images have all had some PP in Photoshop but the files were very rich to begin with. As always, you can click on the images for a larger view. Enjoy! I’ll have some great articles on the way this week so be sure and check back often!

Love the first shot, Steve…got the “Lomo-Look”!
THANKS BOB!
I know it’s not HDR, just that the halo is like in HDR (and HDR sucks bigtime ;)).
I agree, not a fan of HDR..
Regarding HDR….. I am a huge fan…BUT…(please read this part)…if used subtly to bring out full tonal range but NOT take the image to cartoonville. (which seems to get a LOT of notice in publications these days). I have taken images and utilized the tech…but you wouldn’t look at some of them and immediately say….HDR. ….but I get the purist-thing and that is a lot of what this site is about ..and I like that about this website and some of the people who come here, even tho I don’t personally shoot that way, generally.
I just love photography…and this site is great for all kinds of intelligent input, Steve and Jorgen.
Nice pictures, except for the fourth one, where a HDR-like halo surrounds the man.
Exactly what I was thinking.
So that’s what the “halo” is in some photos I’ve seen — HDR! I have often wondered why there’s a force field looking thing. Thanks!
Sorry guys that is not an HDR photo….
Just for clarity’s sake, I wasn’t saying your photo was HDR Steve. Just commenting on some of the halo’s that I’ve seen before on other photos. Not that there’s anything wrong with HDR! 🙂
This is the side effect of the Dodge/Burn tool in PS.
love the first two, colours are really nice
Funny my mother in law’s computer translates your site in French…looks like you are totally fluent…
The auto translator is totally annoying.
Great PP on the first shot Steve, the rusty wash and vignetting really brings out the vintage feel of the composition.
These are great Steve! Rusty’s back in town… (well, the desert, actually). Love the pp on some of these, and that lens/sensor combo certainly does it! Too bad there’s no vf…
