Today Mr. Rich Owen is rocking a classic Nikon D2h (one of my old fave cameras) with some of his own killer concert shots. You can see more of his work at his site HERE. Thanks Richard!
Steve,
After being inspired by your imagery of Seal, I thought I would send a few from this year’s Seabreeze Jazz Festival in Panama City Beach, Florida, in April. This year’s festival, the 12th annual (of which I haD media access to all but one), was two and a half days of music from some of the finest international jazz musicians. Cbrzjazz-242 is saxophonist Steve Cole, cbrzjazz-141 is guitarist Matt Marshak, and cbrzjazz-561 is saxophonist Jessy J. The festival as usual was absolutely outstanding with great fans. While my images are not from the latest up-to-date maxi megapixel camera, I have had good success using my “old” Nikon D2h bodies. All of the images here were shot with an old Tokina 80-200mm f2.8 with the shots of Marshak and Jessy at ISO200 and the one of Cole shot at ISO1600. I used Nik Dfine to cleanup the image of Cole and like my results. Hopefully you will enjoy these shots as much as I have enjoyed your shots of Seal.
Excellent, it’s not the camera it’s the eye.
Great images, yes I enjoyed them.
Thank for sharing.
Wow, these are really great. I love the tonality on the guitarist.
Wow, I enjoyed it! Your shots are plenty of life. Good rendering, pleasing bokeh and nice b/w tones.
Very nice shots! Just shows what a good eye can do!
Love the guitarist shot… you caught the groove…
