Don’t read this unless you want to be tempted by some “new-used” Leica deals I have found this afternoon! If you click a link and they are gone that means that it has been sold. This stuff usually goes fast. These days it’s tough to fund NEW Leica gear so used is a great option. Enjoy!
RARE!!! Leica 75 Summilux 1.4 Lens, 8+ condition with case – $2,399.00 – This lens is MAGIC and they rarely pop up these days used.
Leica 24 Elmarit 2.8 in Chrome! They do not make these in chrome anymore so this is a chance for those with a chrome or grey M. $2399. With case and hood.
This will go fast, as in minutes. A great “9” condition 90 Elmarit wit slide out hood in chrome for $999. Wow. This is a GREAT price for the latest version.
HOW ABOUT THIS? A Leica R lens, the 35-70 3.5 for $699. Get ready because it looks like Leica may be releasing an R lens solution soon and if so, these prices will skyrocket.
Anyone looking for a like new Leica M6 in chrome? B&H has one in 9+ condition for $1799. IN BOX AND ALL!
ADORAMA has a Leica 50 Summicron, latest version in black for $1099.
They also have a Voigtlander 50 Nokton 1.1 used, for $1091. Actually they are calling it an open box, so it may be a demo or return.
What is up with that Voigtlander 50mm f/1.1 price? I spotted that myself the other day and was wondering why I’d pay $92 more than Steve Gandy wants for a new one.
BTW, I just finished renting that lens and the Voigtlander 35mm f/1.4 lenses from lensrentals.com. Both are great lenses, but that 50mm is HUGE. For the time being I’ll stick with my lowly Soviet made Jupiter-8 50mm, though I find myself wanting the 35mm.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo …now you didn’t have to tell me that! I’m keeping myself under the delusion that there are none available!! 😉
Emily, you’re not safe yet. KEH.com still has TWO!
@Scott – thank you for buying the MP! I kept thinking, “If it’s not gone within the next hour…” And then it was gone, and I was a little sad. Enjoy!
Ok, I just bought a used black MP for a pretty good price, although it’s still a bunch of money. When my wife finds out, I’m saying Steve make me do it. 😉
John: I hope Steve won’t mind if I point you to Steve Gandy’s site. Go here
http://www.cameraquest.com/mguide.htm
for pretty much all the info there is on your question about Leica models. The rest of the site is a goldmine of information on (mostly film) rangefinder cameras. (Sorry I can’t make that come out as a link.) Please note, he also has pages about used Leica prices. These are very interesting, especially on the way used Leica prices change over time, but I’m not sure they’re all up to date. The real authorities on Leica prices are the people who sell Leicas: Adorama, B&H, KEH, and many others. You can also look at finished auctions on the famous auction site. The stores will be higher, but you get a return privilege, and an address to complain to.
Adorama also has a lot of low priced older M glass, no clue why I was looking but theyve got a wide selection and some steals for nikon telephoto’s as well right now.
Thanks a lot Ben !!!
Hey Steve, thanks for the post! I’ve been looking for a 90 Elmarit, and that’s the best price I’ve found (not to mention they’re hard to find!). So you can mark it off cause I just bought it! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Hello wonderful Steve!
Thank you for these! Really really tempting!!!
Hey Steve, I’m looking for a used Leica (mechanical only) .. but I’m a little lost between the features of the M3 -vs- M4 -vs- M5 -vs- M6 -vs- MP -vs- M7.
It would be totally amazing if you could just briefly talk about :
a) the different features of each (are they all basically the same?, I don’t know)
b) the year of their released (M6 = 1984 I think, etc.)
b) and the OK price to pay for near MINT condition.
As always, thank you so much.
Your site is the very best! Truly.

Every Leica has its own character it’s up to you to decide what’s good for you..
They’re made to last a lifetime and more.. so with a CLA and good previous owners you shouldn’t have to worry about there age.
