I spotted this image in my folder full of submissions and it popped out so I took a closer look. The e-mail stated this was shot with an original Canon 1D. Yep, the 4.1 mega pixel original MK1! It was submitted by Sebastian Skarp of Bjamum, Sweden. Sebastian shot this with a Canon 85 1.8 wide open at ISO 200. I love the color and out of focus background here.
Goes to show that just because your digital camera is old doesn’t mean it can’t create amazing images. I checked out Sebastian’s blog and WOW, talk about inspiration. I’m now a fan. Thanks Sebastian!
a great image………. and a demonstration that photography is not about the technology but rather the conceptual idea behind the image.
Thank you so much for your kind words Steve!
The sensor resolution does not matter, that’s true! Nice blurred background.
